Announcement: Index of Arab American Archives

This project is produced through a collaboration between the Arab American National Museum, Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies, and Dr. Maria Curtis at The University of Houston-Clear Lake. It is funded through a generous grant from the NHPRC.

The Index of Arab American Archives offers a singular gateway for researchers to learn about and access the various collections of Arab American histories which are housed in institutions across the United States. Collections are organized by state including an interactive map which highlights where each collection is located. The idea behind the project was to create a central listing for US archives, libraries, collections, etc., that document aspects of Arab Americans’ experiences. The index will connect researchers to new sources and make them more accessible than ever.

Many of the collections have not been digitized, thus we have linked to their finding guides, which contain further information about the collection and, often, full inventory lists.
