Argentina Business Directories

The data below has been collected and digitized from three business directories, titled La Siria Nueva (1917), Guia Assalam: Del Comercio Sirio Libanes, 1927-1928, and Guía de Comercio Sírio-Libanés, published in Argentina in 1942. They list the names, addresses, and occupations of Syrian and Lebanese business owners in Argentina. While these directories represent only a selective, self-reporting sample of this community in Argentina, they still provide valuable glimpses of the work and population distribution of people with Syrian and Lebanese heritage in Argentina approaching the middle of the twentieth century.
