Educating North Carolina
The Project is working hard to expand our community by way of education. Our collaboration with education consultant Linda Robinson of Connections-NC, Inc. allowed us to create a comprehensive experience for all North Carolina residents focused on the contributions of Lebanese Americans on the state, the region and the country.
With Linda’s help, we created a curriculum that seeks to raise awareness of the global fabric of our state to grade school students. This curriculum will serve two important goals: First, we will integrate these lessons into Wake County School system lesson plans, so that teachers have an opportunity to learn about the Project and of the important contributions of the Lebanese to the state. Second, we will use these lessons as the basis for public programming that will relate to the museum exhibition set to unveil in 2014. Students will have a chance to visit the exhibit and interact through video gaming stations. The programming will help students contextualize and analyze the content of the exhibit to draw conclusions about the global nature of North Carolina.
We will be adding to the site on a regular basis, so don’t forget to check in once in a while! You can also follow our progress on the Education Page.
