International Festival this weekend
It’s that time again, for the International Festival of Raleigh held this weekend, October 4-6 at the Raleigh Convention Center.
The Festival is presented by International Focus, Inc.,
a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization with the mission to support North Carolina’s international communities and promote American ideals through cross-cultural communication, education, understanding, and the celebration of culture, arts, and cuisine from around the world.
Our very own Bearta Al-Chacar Powell serves on the Festival Committee managing the dance demos!
As always, the Lebanese community will be participating heavily in the festival and we are excited to see dabkeh performances and sample some delicious food! Groups like the Triangle Lebanese Association will be in attendance, so be sure to stop by and watch the child and adult dabkeh groups perform on Friday and Saturday from 7-8pm. If you attended the Festival last year, you’ll remember the group.
Many other cultural groups will be represented at the Festival, which is the best part of the 3-day event. There will be 34 bazaars, 22 sidewalk cafes, and 15 exhibitions all featuring the food, music, art and people of cultures across the globe.
And don’t forget to stop by and say hello!
