Thank you!
We are so thankful for the support of over 280 community members from throughout North Carolina who attended the opening reception of Cedars in the Pines at the North Carolina Museum of History. We feel lucky for your continued dedication to the project. As Akram mentioned, this endeavor is the product of thousands of hours of work. It could not have been possible without everyone’s help and positive spirit!
We’d also like to thank our collaborators in this process:
- North Carolina Museum of History for hosting the exhibit and for their guidance
- NC State University CHASS for their support in bringing history to a wide audience
- NC State University Department of History for hosting the Khayrallah Program for Lebanese-American Studies of which the Lebanese in North Carolina Project is a part
- NC State University Computer Science Department especially Dr. Tiffany Barnes and her undergraduate classes for their work on the interactive computer game.
- NC State University College of Design for bringing us Parsa! And for helping to develop an aesthetic that combines the Middle East and the American South
- Digital Innovation Lab at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, for creating interactivity of historical maps from North Carolina towns
In the coming week, we’ll have photos and videos from the evening. Stay tuned!
