Texas Bound

What made the Syrian/Lebanese immigrant experience in Texas unique?

Using oral histories, local histories, and demographic and health data, “Texas Bound” investigates topics such as immigrants’ relationship with the US and Mexico border, race, health, religion, geography, and industry. The project features an interactive website, a series of four podcasts, a documentary film, and the archive of the Southern Federation of Syrian Lebanese American Clubs.

Our effort to tell the stories of early Arab immigrants in Texas is an organic project that will grow and change. Thus, we invite you to share your Texas stories for potential inclusion in supplementary editions. Contact the Khayrallah Center Archive (kcldsarchive@ncsu.edu) to tell us your family’s story, or fill out this form to discuss donating your family archive.
